Walk and Talk 2024

Mental Health Awareness Week

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week (May 13th to May 19th), one of our co-founders, Jason Berry will be joined by industry stalwart Jonathan White and a host of others as they embark on a symbolic journey from Crystal Specialist Finance office in Tamworth to the HSBC office in Canary Wharf. Over the course of five days, Jason and Jonathan are walking to raise awareness about the importance of physical movement for mental wellbeing.

Why Movement and Exercise Matter for Mental Health

Physical movement and exercise have long been recognized as crucial elements for maintaining good mental health. Engaging in regular physical activity can:

  • Boost Mood: Exercise releases endorphins, the body’s natural mood lifters, which can help alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression.
  • Reduce Stress: Physical activity is an excellent stress reliever, helping to lower cortisol levels and promote relaxation.
  • Improve Sleep: Regular exercise can enhance the quality of sleep, leading to better overall mental health and cognitive function.
  • Enhance Self-Esteem: Achieving fitness goals and feeling physically strong can boost self-confidence and improve self-esteem.

“Walking has been an incredible outlet for me, both physically and mentally. It’s a chance to clear my mind, reflect on the day, and connect with nature. I’m thrilled to be walking during this very important week and I invite everyone to join me on this journey towards better mental health.” – Jason, Group Sales Director, Crystal Specialist Finance.
