The Mortgage Industry Mental Health and Wellbeing Survey 2026
MIMHC's 5th Annual Survey!
When the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter launched its first wellbeing survey five years ago, our ambition was simple. We wanted to understand how people working within the mortgage industry were really feeling.
Not what we assumed. Not what we hoped. But what colleagues across our sector were genuinely experiencing every day.
Those conversations have become one of the most valuable assets our industry possesses.
Each year, hundreds of advisers, lenders, business owners and support staff have shared their experiences openly and honestly. Those responses have helped us identify trends, challenge perceptions and, most importantly, create practical solutions.
The survey findings have influenced wellbeing strategies within businesses, supported the growth of the Charter and helped us expand initiatives including Mental Health First Aid training, educational events, physical wellbeing activities and peer support across the industry.
On 1st July, we’ve launched our fifth annual Mental Health & Wellbeing Survey 2026, and we’re asking the entire mortgage community to help us make it our most impactful yet.
Our goal is simple:
500 Voices.
£1,000 Invested.
One Healthier Industry.
This year, thanks to the generous support of Pepper Money, every completed survey will generate a £2 donation to the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter Foundation CIC.
If we achieve our target of 500 completed responses, £1,000 will be invested directly into sustaining accredited Mental Health First Aid training for people working across our sector.
That means your response doesn’t just provide valuable insight. It helps create practical support that could make a real difference to someone’s life.
One of the most encouraging aspects of the Charter’s journey has been seeing the industry unite behind a common purpose. More than 400 organisations have now signed the Charter, collectively representing over 30,000 people. Together, we’ve demonstrated that commercial success and colleague wellbeing are not competing priorities—they go hand in hand.
But our work is far from finished.
The challenges facing our profession continue to evolve, and the only way we can respond effectively is by continuing to listen.
Whether you’re a broker, lender, underwriter, administrator, compliance professional or work elsewhere within the mortgage sector, your experience matters.
Completing the survey takes only a few minutes, but the insight it provides will crucially help shape future initiatives, influence employers and ensure that support continues to be built around the needs of the people our industry depends upon.
Five years ago, we started listening.
Now we’re asking you to help shape what comes next.
